Haflinger Horses Breeding Haflinger Horses, "the little horse with the big heart," we strive to raise quiet yearlings for sale each year. Mimi, my original brood mare, was given to me by my parents of Don and Thelma Russell of DTR Haflingers when she was orphaned at birth. Raised on a bottle by round-the-clock feedings, she quickly became spoiled and hasn't figured out she's a horse. Magpie, Mimi's first foal, is a sweetheart of a mare. She pulled the 80-mile trek of the Appalachian Wagon Train in 2006 and is the most loveable. Maya, Mimi's third foal, was shown by my son at the 2007 Allegany County Fair where he took home a blue ribbon in halter class. Having been raised amongst boys playing guns, whooping and hollering, she is so laid back. Myna-Mina, Mimi's fourth foal, was sold to Stephanie of Newburg, PA. Thanks Stephanie! Taxi, Magpie's first foal was a colt. The first boy in a long string of fillies in the barn. Taxi was born on April 15, hence, the name. Taxi is for sale.
and the other horse... Joe, the odd man out, is a Morgan/Haflinger gelding given to my son by my brother. Joe is quick of foot and bright of spirit. An all-around nice guy...
